For those with LONG memories (!) the Red Lion Leytonstone has a LONG history in British Traditional jazz; for years the stronghold of Eric Silk’s ‘always Traditional’ Southern Jazz Band and right up until the 1970s the host venue for major jazz figures including one of my biggest heroes Freddy Randall. Anyhow this Sunday 13 November I’ll be playing a nice trio set between 4-6pm at The Red Lion with my good friend GRAHAM READ (bass) and SIMON PICTON joining us on guitar and banjo. So do come and join us for a session that’s growing in popularity week by week – and make sure to say to say ‘hello’ too!
