This is my brand-new album featuring a jazz suite based on the music of one of my favourite composers Frederick Delius who celebrated his ‘Sesquicentennial’ (love that word!) in 2012. Delius’ 150th prompted my good friends in the Delius Society to commission this new work as part of the celebrations – but have no fear; it’s jazz all the way, with five of my favourite players Julian Marc Stringle (reeds) Chris Gower (trombone) Dominic Ashworth (guitars) Len Skeat (bass) and Neil Bullock (drums/percussion). As well as the suite, there’s piano solos from Ralph Sutton, Alan Rogers and Paul Guinery featuring the music of Bix Beiderbecke, Edward MacDowell, George Gershwin – and Frederick himself!
