Very sadly Lee Gibson will be unable to appear (as previously advertised) at Sands by the Sea this month – tho’ we certainly hope she will return in 2024! – but I’m delighted to say that her replacement is the great JACQUI HICKS. Jacqui  is best known as the multi-award winning lead voice of chart-topping group ‘Shakatak’ whom she joined in 1992 for a worldwide touring schedule  establishing her as an international star. Away from the group however she has recorded acclaimed solo albums including ‘Spellbound’ ‘With a Song in My Heart’ and a Child is Born’ and is a long-time collaborator with ‘Sands’ favourite Julian Marc Stringle.  Equally at home with the American and British songbooks as with contemporary material, Digby says about Jacqui :  ’I’m thrilled that she can join us.
