It’s a lucky first time for me playing at a longtime jazz venue The Pump House, Watford. I’m delighted to have been asked as the Pump House is one of our most respected jazz venues and has been hosting the best of UK Traditional jazz for over fifty years – about as long as I’ve been playing! Opened in 1972 by Trevor Hodgkinson and Neville Marsh the club continues to flourish in 2023 and I’ve asked three distinguished guests to join me in a hot quartet for our session : JULIAN MARC STRINGLE (clarinet) SIMON PICTON (banjo, guitar and vocals) and another old friend MURRAY SALMON (double bass). The music plays from 8pm-10.45; there’s a licensed bar – and a car park! If it’s full there are more free spaces very nearby to Watford High Street Overground station.
